Maruthamalai Plastic Collection Centre

A plastic collection centre has been established at the foothills of Maruthamalai as part of an initiative to support a cleaner and plastic-free environment around the hill and its surrounding areas.

According to the newspaper report, the centre was established through Somayampalayam Panchayat at a cost of ₹36 lakh. The initiative focuses on collecting plastic waste generated in the Maruthamalai hill and foothill areas and managing the collected material responsibly.

The project was inaugurated in the presence of the district administration and panchayat officials. The photographs document the project visit, the inauguration and the participation of the officials and team.
